Call the Police First
One important order-of-events note before we attend:
Call 999 if it's still in progress, or 101 if it has already happened
Don't touch or tidy the entry points until the police have been, it's a crime scene
Get your crime reference number; your insurer will need it
We generally can't start repairs until the police have released the scene
Tell your insurer as soon as you can, many expect to hear within 24 hours
