The phrase matters because the alternative is a drilled lock and a parts bill. Danny's locksmiths open the overwhelming majority of doors in Scarborough with picking and bypass techniques, the lock keeps working, the door is untouched, and your existing keys still fit. Genuine exceptions exist: some failed mechanisms and some high-security cylinders resist everything (that's their job, after all). When that's the case we'll say so, explain the options and price the replacement before touching anything.

While You Wait — and When We Arrive
Wait somewhere safe and warm if you can. Have ID to hand, or be ready to show it once you're inside: we confirm you're entitled to enter the property before opening it. It takes a moment, and it's a feature, a locksmith who'd open any door for anyone is not the locksmith you want existing in your town.
How long does it take to open the door?
Most standard domestic locks open in minutes once we're with you; stubborn or failed locks take longer, and we'll keep you in the loop as we work.
My keys are lost, not just inside, should I change the locks?
If they were lost with anything that points to your address, yes — and we can swap the cylinders in the same visit. Our guide on when to change your locks covers the judgement call.
Will you need proof it's my home?
Yes, ID or reasonable proof once you're inside. It protects you, your neighbours and us.
Will I need a new lock afterwards?
Usually not. Non-destructive entry leaves your lock working and your existing keys fitting, so once you're back in, nothing has changed. The exception is a lock that had already failed, or keys lost with your address attached, in those cases a replacement makes sense, and we can do it in the same visit.
I rent my home, can I still call you?
Yes. We open for whoever is entitled to enter the property, which includes tenants, we'll just check that's you before we start. If it's a managed let, your landlord or letting agent may also hold a spare and be obliged to help, which is often the quicker route if you can reach them.
